Harris Steps Up in a Pinch

Career pinch-hit leader Lenny Harris had a go-ahead three-run double against Jason Marquis in the sixth inning, helping the Florida Marlins beat the host St. Louis Cardinals, 6-5, on Monday night.

Mike Lowell hit only his second road home run this season and had three runs batted in for the Marlins, who have won five of six. Juan Encarnacion had three hits and scored twice.

Albert Pujols hit his 29th homer for the Cardinals, John Rodriguez had two hits and two RBIs and So Taguchi had three hits.

Harris, 40, has 205 hits as a pinch-hitter.

Pittsburgh 4, Atlanta 1 -- Left-hander Zach Duke pitched into the ninth inning at Atlanta to help the Pirates end a five-game skid.

Duke became the first Pirate starter since Jim Nelson in 1970 to begin his career 4-0.

In 39 1/3 innings spanning five starts, Duke has given up four earned runs.
