Mauch Memorial Is Set for Sunday

A gathering in memory of former Angel manager Gene Mauch, who died Monday after a long illness, will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the main clubhouse at the Springs Country Club in Rancho Mirage.
Mauch managed the Angels in two separate stints, from 1981 to 1982 and from 1985 to 1987.
He retired from managing after the 1987 season with a lifetime record of 1,901-2,037. He won 379 games with the Angels.
In lieu of flowers, Mauch’s family has requested donations be made to the Eisenhower Medical Center, also located in Rancho Mirage.
