Houseguest Is Arrested in Attack on Couple
A husband and wife were stabbed multiple times at their home Saturday morning during an alleged attack by their houseguest, authorities said.
Redondo Beach police arrested Peter Profetto, 34, of Sherman Oaks on suspicion of attempted murder. He was being held in lieu of $3-million bail.
The 8:30 a.m. incident took place at the home in the 2000 block of Ripley Avenue. The wife fled the house with her 18-month-old son after her husband hit Profetto on the head with a chair, Lt. Jeff Hink said.
The husband, 40, was in unstable condition in the intensive care unit at a local hospital after a series of surgeries. The wife, 34, was expected to recover, Hink said. The couple were not identified.
