Council Approves Police Commission Picks
The City Council unanimously approved Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s four nominees to the Police Commission on Wednesday after new member John W. Mack promised that the group “will not be a rubber stamp commission.”
In addition to Mack, the former president of the Los Angeles Urban League, the new members are Shelley Freeman, a bank executive, and Anthony Pacheco and Andrea Ordin, two former federal prosecutors. They join one returning member, Alan J. Skobin, a lawyer at a San Fernando Valley car dealership.
