The City Council unanimously approved Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s four nominees to the Police Commission on Wednesday after new member John W. Mack promised that the group “will not be a rubber stamp commission.”
In addition to Mack, the former president of the Los Angeles Urban League, the new members are Shelley Freeman, a bank executive, and Anthony Pacheco and Andrea Ordin, two former federal prosecutors. They join one returning member, Alan J. Skobin, a lawyer at a San Fernando Valley car dealership.
