Why Are Union Workers Crossing Picket Lines?

Your stories of the Northwest Airlines strike have noted that the members of the pilots, flight attendants and other unions representing workers at that airline have continued to work.

I want to know why they aren’t observing the picket lines, as one expects members of a union to do.
