The Bush administration agreed to a delay in resuming six-nation talks on Pyongyang’s nuclear weapons program.

“We are prepared to go back the week of Sept. 12,” State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.

North Korea said it would delay its return because of U.S. military exercises with South Korea and President Bush’s appointment of an envoy to promote human rights in the North.
