Bottom line: Rap isn’t rock ‘n’ roll

YOUR article about the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame snubbing rappers is ridiculous [“Rock Hall of Fame Leaves Rappers Out of Its New Class,” by Chris Lee, Nov. 29].
Rappers should never be honored in such an institution. There is one reason: Rap is not rock. It is an entirely different genre. So, yeah, rappers didn’t get honored because they don’t make rock music.

THE Rock and Roll Hall of Fame found no worthy candidates from the class of 1980? That was the year X released “Los Angeles.” I guess the folks at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are starting to sound like my parents when the Beatles arrived in 1964.
