Tom Sizemore back in court

Share

Actor Tom Sizemore, who is on probation for a 2004 drug offense, has tested positive for methamphetamines, a prosecutor told an L.A. judge Friday.

The results of the test could be a violation of Sizemore’s probation, which could land him in prison for 16 months. But his defense attorney told Superior Court Judge T.K. Herman that the test results were caused by prescription medication the actor is taking for depression. He identified the medication as selegiline, which, when broken down in the body, can create a form of methamphetamines that is not outlawed.

In October, another judge had told Sizemore that he would wind up behind bars the next time he violated probation. But Herman, who was new to the case, did not indicate he would follow the previous judge’s warning at this time. He scheduled a Jan. 13 hearing to learn more about the drug test and Sizemore’s prescription drug.
