Hill Rejoins Magic for Rout of Knicks

Hedo Turkoglu gladly returned to the bench so Grant Hill could start his first game of the season.
Then Turkoglu and Pat Garrity gladly took advantage of the New York Knicks.
Turkoglu scored 18 points, Garrity had a season-high 17, and the duo combined for nine of Orlando’s 11 three-point baskets in a 105-90 victory over the Knicks on Tuesday night at New York.
“They had like miscommunication out there. They didn’t help each other,” Turkoglu said. “They left really good shooters, Pat and me, they left us really, really open all the time.”
Dwight Howard had 23 points and 13 rebounds for Orlando, which made 11 of 18 three-pointers.
Hill sat out Orlando’s first 19 games after surgery for a sports hernia on Oct. 31. He started and scored seven points in 22 minutes, and was on the floor in the second quarter when the Magic took control for good with a 13-3 run capped by Hill’s three-point basket at the halftime buzzer.
Eddy Curry scored 23 points for the Knicks, who have lost four in a row.
Miami 100, Milwaukee 83 -- Dwyane Wade scored 27 points and Gary Payton had 20 at Milwaukee to give Heat Coach Pat Riley consecutive victories after replacing Stan Van Gundy.
Michael Redd scored 24 points for the Bucks.
Detroit 109, Sacramento 98 -- Chauncey Billups had 28 points and a career-high 19 assists and Richard Hamilton scored 36 at Auburn Hills, Mich., to help the Pistons improve to 16-3, tying the 1996-97 team for the best start in franchise history.
Brad Miller had 16 points for the Kings.
Houston 111, Golden State 105 -- Rookie guard Luther Head made a tying three-point shot with 2.7 seconds left in regulation, Yao Ming scored four of his 30 points in overtime and the visiting Rockets won for the fifth time in six games. Jason Richardson scored 28 for the Warriors, who blew an 11-point lead in the final four minutes of regulation.
Dallas 102, Phoenix 96 -- Dirk Nowitzki scored 29 points and Jason Terry had 23 at Dallas to help hand the Suns their third straight loss since ending a nine-game winning streak.
Shawn Marion led Phoenix with 23 points and had 19 rebounds, one shy of his career high.
Philadelphia 106, Atlanta 101 -- Allen Iverson scored 39 points, Chris Webber had 29 and the host 76ers won their fourth in a row.
Al Harrington scored 27 points for the Hawks.
Chicago 105, Toronto 94 -- Darius Songaila had 18 points to lead seven double-figure scorers at Toronto to help the Bulls beat the Raptors for the 10th straight time. Chris Bosh scored 25 for Toronto.
Boston 85, Indiana 71 -- Paul Pierce had 25 points, and the Celtics held the Pacers to 32.5% shooting and a season-low point total at Boston.
Jermaine O’Neal scored 14 for Indiana.
Charlotte 91, New Jersey 83 -- Brevin Knight had a season-high 25 points and the Bobcats ended an eight-game skid in beating the Nets, who were booed often while losing their fourth in a row at home. Richard Jefferson scored 25 for the Nets.
Utah 82, Portland 77 -- Andrei Kirilenko had 21 points, 16 rebounds and eight blocked shots to lead the Jazz at Salt Lake City.

Utah Jazz rookies Deron Williams and Robert Whaley were cited with one count each of providing false information in the investigation of a bar brawl Sunday in Park City, Utah, police said.
Police said Williams identified himself as Torry Ellis and Whaley said he was Bobby Williams.
