Visions of Mary
Re “Seeing Mary all over again,” Opinion, Dec. 18
Gregory Rodriguez states that “many theologians have noted other images of the Virgin Mary represent a more tender, compassionate side of God.” I don’t know who their God is, but mine is already tender and compassionate. As far as the love and respect that the Virgin Mary, as the mother of Jesus Christ, engenders, it is the same love and respect we have for our own mothers. It has nothing to do with “seeking the feminine face of God.”
