King Game Looks Just as Bad on Film

The Clippers went to the movies Wednesday, and didn’t like what they saw. It was film of their 110-93 loss to the Sacramento Kings the night before at Staples Center, the Clippers’ sixth setback in eight games.

“We watched a lot of film from last night,” Coach Mike Dunleavy said after practice. “We watched film for about an hour and a half, then walked through situations we want to get covered. We also got some shooting in and some of the guys stuck around to play four on four or three on three.”

As for keys to the surprisingly lopsided loss, Dunleavy pointed to defensive lapses -- not recognizing the pick and roll, not rotating in the middle fast enough and losing track of the Kings’ Mike Bibby, who scored a season-high 38 points.

Asked what was learned from the game film, Dunleavy said, “I think the guys were able to see where our mistakes were. The other thing was, we missed a lot of wide-open shots.”

The Clippers made 39 of 88 shots (44.3%) against the Kings.

Backup forward Quinton Ross sat out Tuesday’s game because of a sore back and is questionable for the Clippers’ next game, against the Boston Celtics on Saturday night at Staples Center.

The Clippers then travel to Portland to take on the Trail Blazers on Sunday night.
