EARNINGS

* Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc., a Corona-based drug maker, said fourth-quarter profit gained 4.2% on higher sales of its generic products and lower expenses. Net income rose to $55.1 million, or 46 cents a share, from $52.9 million, or 45 cents, a year earlier. Sales rose 4.3% to $423.5 million.
