Ethics Panel to Probe Allegations of Scheme

A week after the city Ethics Commission levied a record $270,000 fine against developer Mark Alan Abrams for laundering political contributions, the panel’s executive director accused six former Abrams associates Monday of participating in the scheme.
The panel will next take up Executive Director LeeAnn Pelham’s allegation that the associates made contributions to the campaigns of Mayor James K. Hahn and two council members, and then were reimbursed by Abrams.
