65 Arrested in 3-Day Sweep
Authorities arrested 65 people during a three-day sweep in Santa Ana that targeted violent criminals with outstanding arrest warrants, officials announced Friday.
“The word that I received from our officers on the streets is that many of our areas that in the past predominantly were hot spots for criminal activity are now ghost towns,” said Santa Ana Police Chief Paul M. Walters.
The arrest warrants included such crimes as embezzlement, armed robbery and attempted murder.
The most serious offense allegedly was committed by Antonio Juarez Delgado, who was arrested Thursday, police said. He was wanted in Missouri for allegedly sexually mutilating an infant boy, officials said.
