Waiting for Pentagon to Be Held Accountable
I applaud Sen. John McCain for his perseverance in demanding accountability in the Pentagon for the $23.5-billion aerial refueling tanker deal with Boeing Co. (“McCain Presses Probe Into Deal for Tankers,” Dec. 7).
It is unfathomable to me that we have had a number of recent scandalous activities related to the Pentagon and the Defense Department and no one seems to be held accountable.
Instead, President Bush, either obliviously or without caring, continues to commend Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld for his services.
