United Steelworkers, PACE Unions to Merge

The United Steelworkers of America and the Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy Workers International Union said they would merge, creating the largest industrial labor union in North America.
The unions said the merger would increase their bargaining and organizing power, with 850,000 members including most U.S. steelworkers, paper mill employees and refinery workers.
The merger is subject to approval by union members.
