Pacific Runs League Win Streak to 22

David Doubley scored 16 points and Pacific defeated host UC Santa Barbara, 58-43, Saturday night to extend its winning streak to 10 overall and 22 in Big West Conference play.

The Tigers (14-2, 9-0), who shot 47.8%, ended the Gauchos’ three-game winning streak.

The Gauchos (7-9, 4-4) kept pace through the first eight minutes, getting a three-point basket from Chrismen Oliver and two from Josh Davis for an 11-11 tie.

Davis led the Gauchos with a career-high 21 points, but his teammates made only eight of 41 shots. The Gauchos shot 27.8%.

Guillaume Yango and Marko Mihailovic each had seven rebounds for Pacific.

Doubley scored 13 points in the first half as Pacific surged to a 30-18 lead.

Idaho 61, Cal State Fullerton 58 -- Dandrick Jones scored 18 points to give the Vandals (7-11, 5-2) their sixth consecutive home victory.

Ralphy Holmes had 17 points and 13 rebounds, and Bobby Brown scored 14 points for the Titans (8-7, 3-4), who shot 33% from the field and missed seven of nine three-point shots in the second half, including one at the buzzer by Jermaine Harper that would have tied the score.

Fullerton took its final lead, 52-51, with 4 minutes 32 seconds to play on a layup by Brown, the conference’s leading scorer. Jones responded with a short jump shot to give the Vandals the lead for good.

Cal State Northridge 81, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 73 -- Jonathan Heard had 19 points at San Luis Obispo and the Matadors (9-8, 7-2) won for the eighth time in 10 games.

Each team shot 53.1% from the field, but Northridge outrebounded the Mustangs, 34-18.

Freshman guard Dawin Whiten scored 22 points for the Mustangs (3-12, 1-7), who have lost seven in a row.

Davin White scored 13 points for Northridge, and Calvin Chitwood and Thomas Shewmake each had 12.

Utah State 77, UC Riverside 52 -- Spencer Nelson scored 17 points and had six assists to lead the Aggies at Logan, Utah.

The Aggies (13-5, 4-3) shot 51% and held the Highlanders (6-10, 2-5) to 28.6% shooting.

Rickey Porter had 19 points for the Highlanders, who trailed by as many as 31 points in the second half.

In the first half, Utah State held Riverside to seven field goals. The Aggies blocked five shots in the half.

UC Davis 78, Long Beach State 74 -- Ryan Moore had 27 points to help the host Aggies (8-9) erase a 12-point second half deficit and win the nonconference game in overtime.

Jibril Hodges had 23 points for the 49ers (2-15), and Kevin Houston and Shawn Hawkins each had 16.
