A Thank You to Hahn

Share

Re “Hahn Looks Forward, and Back,” June 29: I am proud to have had the good fortune to work for James Hahn for more than six years. I had the unique privilege to see firsthand his genuine commitment to make Los Angeles a better place for everyone.

His decision-making process was often a fairly simple one, coming down to the question of “What is the right thing to do?” The right thing to do may not have always been the best political decision, but politics never guided him. His concern for people guided him. He never sought praise, only results. Maybe it cost him his job, but L.A., by any measure, is better because he was mayor. He deserves our thanks.
