The 113th Orange County Fair opens Friday in Costa Mesa. This year’s theme: “It’s Callin’ You Out to Play.” The fair’s conjoined concert series at the Pacific Amphitheatre kicks off this weekend with shows by the B-52’s (Friday), comedian Bill Engvall (Saturday) and the Steve Miller Band (Sunday). Other concerts in the series will feature Hootie and the Blowfish (Tuesday); Hilary Duff (Wednesday); Beck and the Decemberists (July 21); LeAnn Rimes (July 29); Chris Isaak (July 30); and Saturday Night Live alumni Dana Carvey, Kevin Nealon and Victoria Jackson (July 19).

Besides more music and comedy (including Carrot Top) at the fair itself, there’ll be motocross, demolition derby shows, bull riding, carnival rides, games, agricultural competitions, cooking demonstrations and more.
