Worker Who Fell at Arts Center Is Identified
A man who plunged 80 feet to his death while working on the expansion of the Orange County Performing Arts Center on Wednesday has been identified as a 48-year-old father from Redondo Beach.
An autopsy revealed that Jorge Bazan died from multiple traumatic injuries, coroner’s officials said.
Bazan, who was wearing a harness, was standing on a scaffold at the Renee and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall when it gave way and he fell.
A state Division of Occupational Safety and Health investigation is expected to take at least two months to complete, officials said.
