Your aim must be straight and true

MANY of your readers submit images to “My Best Shot” that are so close to being great, except the horizon line is crooked. This comes from concentrating on the subject and ignoring the surrounding elements.

The simplest way to improve image quality is to make sure the horizon line is parallel in the viewfinder or LCD screen. Many cameras allow you to turn on grid lines or framing elements that are visible in the viewfinder. The difference between an average image and a great one lies in the details.
