Toddler Drowns in His Family’s Backyard Spa

An 18-month-old boy drowned Tuesday when he crawled from his living room and into a backyard spa, officials said.
The boy, who was not identified, was in the living room with his mother at their home in the 25000 block of Modoc Drive about 7:40 p.m. His mother left the room for several minutes and returned to find her boy missing, police said. She searched outside, where she found him in the spa, officials said.
The boy was pronounced dead about 10 p.m. at Mission Hospital, police said.
