Firetruck Crashes; 1 Dead, 8 Injured
From Times Wire Reports
A firetruck on its way to a call was involved in an accident in Philadelphia that left one person dead and eight people injured, authorities said.
Authorities were not sure what caused the crash. The ladder truck landed on top of a car, and both vehicles plowed into a corner grocery store in the city’s Cobbs Creek neighborhood, Executive Fire Chief Daniel Williams said.
Five firefighters and three others were injured and taken to hospitals, Williams said. At least one of the injured people had been in the store.
