Investment banking firm Jefferies Group Inc. said Monday that John C. Shaw had retired as president and that Chief Executive Richard Handler had assumed his title. Shaw, 58, had been with Jefferies for 22 years and had been president since 2001. Shaw wanted to spend more time with his family, Handler said.
Jefferies, founded in Los Angeles in 1962, shifted its headquarters to New York in 2002.
