Gator road stop beyond ‘oddball’

AS a longtime wildlife conservation and protection activist, I was disgusted by Rosemary McClure’s flippant description of Colorado Gators, the “farm” where alligators are (per the photo) tightly noosed around the neck, sat on by a 200-pound yahoo and taunted by having their heads and jaws yanked back to reveal their teeth [“Colorado’s Supersized Sandbox,” July 17]. This is the kind of tawdry roadside attraction that The Times should be exposing as cruel and imbecilic, not as a fun local curiosity.
