Wallace, Pistons Making Noise

Former Portland Trail Blazer Rasheed Wallace showed off his NBA championship ring to anyone who wanted to see it Tuesday night. Then he and the Detroit Pistons showed off their championship form against his old teammates.

In his second trip back to the Rose Garden, Wallace had 12 points and 10 rebounds and Detroit led by as many as 17 points in beating Portland, 103-93, for its eighth victory in a row.

Richard Hamilton had 20 points for Detroit, which has also won 13 of its last 14.

Wallace, introduced to a balanced greeting of cheers and boos, reveled in his return, once taunting his old coach, Maurice Cheeks, with “Timeout Cheeks!”

Cheeks rolled his eyes.

When he left for good with about a minute remaining, Wallace said to the crowd: “Everybody applaud and leave.”

Philadelphia 118, Milwaukee 111 -- Allen Iverson scored 48 points at Milwaukee for his third consecutive 40-plus effort against the Bucks. Iverson also reached 40 points against the Bucks for the sixth time overall.

Michael Redd had 35 points for Milwaukee.

Seattle 101, Indiana 93 -- Rashard Lewis had 30 points on 14-for-19 shooting, and the SuperSonics used a late 9-0 run to rally at Indianapolis.

Stephen Jackson had 28 points for Indiana, which lost its second in a row after a five-game winning streak.

Charlotte 94, Sacramento 87 -- Former King Gerald Wallace finished with 16 points, seven rebounds and five steals in a victory over his old team at Charlotte, N.C.

Corliss Williamson had 18 points for the Kings, playing without Brad Miller (calf), Peja Stojakovic (hamstring) and Darius Songaila (foot).

Houston 119, Chicago 89 -- Tracy McGrady scored 32 points in three quarters at Chicago to help the Rockets easily end a three-game losing streak.

Denver 97, Atlanta 74 -- Carmelo Anthony had 23 points at Denver in the Nuggets’ fourth victory in a row. Denver (28-29) moved into a tie with Minnesota, one game behind the Lakers for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff berth.

Memphis 99, Golden State 97 -- Mike Miller was fouled after stealing a pass by Jason Richardson and then made two free throws with 10.4 seconds left to lift the Grizzlies at Memphis, Tenn. Shane Battier had 25 points for Memphis. Richardson had 29 for Golden State.
