Enron Reaches Tentative Pension Suit Settlement
- Share via
Enron Corp, the energy trader whose 2001 collapse led to corporate governance and accounting changes, has tentatively agreed to settle lawsuits over employee pension-fund claims, lawyers for the company and workers said.
Under the proposed agreement, Enron would allow a $356.2-million claim to be made against it in U.S. Bankruptcy Court to resolve employee lawsuits over pension fund stock losses, Lynn Sarko, a lawyer for Enron workers, told a judge. A claim of that size could result in a $64-million recovery for Enron workers.
