From a Times Staff Writer
Flames raced through an unoccupied, two-story apartment building at 6th Street and Hobart Boulevard in the Wilshire Center area Thursday night.
Jim Wells, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department, said the fire broke out at 9:30 p.m. The cause of the blaze was not immediately determined.
About 75 firefighters responded to the blaze, which burned from the basement to the roof. Part of the building collapsed. The fire was controlled in about an hour.
