Pope Blesses Crowd From Hospital Window
From Times Wire Reports
Pope John Paul II looked frail but alert as he waved from his hospital window and made the sign of the cross to a cheering and weeping throng.

In a greeting read by an aide, John Paul relayed his “gratitude for all those signs of affection that have reached me.”
