Hip-hop’s impact

Todd Boyd’s essay “Working Both Sides of Street” (March 6) is right on the mark. Hip-hop has had an incredible impact on our culture. What he fails to mention is the sad and pathetic state our culture is in, when we allow the likes of 50 Cent, the Game and all these other fourth-grade poets and thugs to have any influence over anything. As a society, we simply don’t need this.
