Rod Price, 57, a founding member of the blues boogie band Foghat, died March 22 in Wilton, N.H., of a heart attack. Price sustained serious head injuries in a fall down a stairway, which reportedly precipitated the heart attack.

A native of London, Price gained attention for his signature slide and blues-based playing. He was an original member of the group, which formed in England in 1971 and included three members of the Savoy Brown blues band. They signed with Bearsville Records that same year. The group earned three platinum and eight gold records over the next 25 years.

In addition to his work with Foghat, Prince played with such great blues performers as Muddy Waters, Willie Dixon and John Lee Hooker.
