Two men were killed and another was injured Sunday in Van Nuys in a pair of shootings that appeared to be gang-related and connected, police said.

The first shooting occurred about 8:45 p.m. in the 14700 block of Delano Street, leaving one man dead and another injured, after at least one gunman got out of a vehicle and fired “into a crowd” of people, police said.

Less than an hour later, another man was killed in the 14000 block of Vanowen Street when a gunman also got out of a vehicle and opened fire. LAPD Officer Sandra Escalante said the second shooting might have been in retaliation for the first.
