Aldrich Allen, 48; Actor, Founding Member of Sacred Fools Theatre

Aldrich Allen, 48, an actor and founding member, whom a Times writer called a mainstay of the Sacred Fools Theater Company died April 23 in Los Angeles of unspecified natural causes.
Born in St. Louis and brought up in Gardena, Allen studied acting at Los Angeles City College. He had performed in San Francisco and Seattle, where he was an original member of the Annex Theater.
For Sacred Fools, he was co-host and co-producer of the company’s variety show, “Ten Tops,” and worked on productions of “SeaGull,” “Dumbshow,” “Cirque Picnique” and “Strange Beliefs.”
His acting earned critical praise in company performances of “The Fictionist,” “Peer Gynt,” “Dubya 2000” and “Crime Scene,” among others.
At the time of his death, he was performing in the comedy “Urgent & Confidential” and in “Ten Tops.”
