Committee Advances Law to Neuter Pit Bulls
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
An ordinance that would require spaying and neutering of pit bull terriers in the city will go to a final vote at the Board of Supervisors meeting next week.
A committee tentatively approved the plan Monday.
Other pit bull-related ordinances that were introduced by Supervisor Bevan Duffy would require city permits to breed them and prohibit owners of pit bulls or pit bull mixes from retrieving impounded dogs unless the animals were spayed or neutered.
