Anticipating a burst of poppies

RE “Poppy culture” [Oct. 27]: My California poppy field has bloomed off and on for the entire summer. I sowed seeds last January. Later I planted some nursery stock. The seed-grown plants did better than the transplants. I have seeds from the Mojave Desert Resource that I am sowing in the rest of my wildflower preserve. This is a west-facing slope, and I expect good coverage next spring.
