Oilers Rally to Beat Detroit in Overtime

Jarret Stoll scored the winning goal 33 seconds into overtime, and the Edmonton Oilers pulled out a 6-5 home victory over the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday night.

Trailing, 3-1, heading into the third period, Edmonton scored four times in the final 20 minutes on two goals from Ryan Smyth and goals from Marc-Andre Bergeron and Ethan Moreau.

Toronto 4, Boston 1 -- Eric Lindros had a goal and an assist on the road for the Maple Leafs, who have won three straight for the first time this season. Bruin captain Joe Thornton went scoreless for the first time in nine games.

Carolina 5, N.Y. Rangers 1 -- Kevyn Adams scored his first three goals of the season for his first career hat trick, and the host Hurricanes won for the 11th time in 12 games.

Buffalo 8, Washington 5 -- Taylor Pyatt recorded his second career hat trick, and Brian Campbell had two goals for the Sabres, who won their third straight at home and second overall.

Tampa Bay 3, N.Y. Islanders 2 -- Martin St. Louis scored the winner with 1:43 left in Tampa, Fla. He was back in the lineup less than a week after breaking a bone in his left ring finger.

Ottawa 4, Florida 1 -- Daniel Alfredsson scored power-play goals 20 seconds apart midway through the third period at home and the Senators extended the Panthers’ losing streak to 10 games.
