RE “For Fans, It’s All About Pavarotti, Not His Pipes,” by Diane Haithman, Sept. 26: As a Hollywood Bowl-goer for many years, I was offended by the gall of the Pavarotti concert promoters in charging $20 for a program and then not putting any information about the program up on the video screens so those of us in the cheap seats ($45) could have some idea of what we were hearing. We tried to confirm the name of the soprano with an usher, who directed us to buy a program.
The regular Bowl operators are a better bunch.
