Proposed, who was beaten the first time she ran past seven furlongs, will try for her first win around two turns in today’s seventh race at Santa Anita. The race is part of a pick six with a carry-over of $90,525.

A 3-year-old Benchmark filly bred and owned by Pam and Marty Wygod and trained by John Shirreffs, Proposed won her first two races of 2005 but had to settle for second as the 7-5 favorite when stretched out to 1 1/16 miles on Aug. 21. Guidebook went wire to wire that day, beating Proposed by one length.

Race of the day: Potro Tell, who won four of six in Argentina, will make his U.S. debut for owner Rupert Piersch and trainer Kiaran McLaughlin in today’s eighth at Belmont Park. Fernando Jara will ride the 5-year-old Potrillon horse in the $58,000 optional claimer.
