Hey, can we

tag along for

the ‘research’?

Jewelry designer Tarina Tarantino debuted her Melrose Avenue boutique last week, where the guests included Kimberly Stewart, Lisa Loeb, Illeana Douglas, Alexandra von Furstenberg and Bijou Phillips. During the bash, we bumped into barkeep Marc Smith and got an invitation to join him at his Hollywood watering hole, Three Clubs, where a Katrina benefit was in full effect. There, we chatted up club designer Ricki Kline, who was on his way to Ireland and England with Broadway Bar-Golden Gopher owner Cedd Moses. The duo, who are gearing up to ready the new downtown bar Seven Grand, are on a U.K. pub crawl in search of new bourbons, et al, to introduce stateside.

Seen on the scene: Celebrity photographer Brad Elterman’s anti-stalkarazzi shirts, which feature such slogans as “Paparazzi Keep Your Distance” and “No Photos of My Baby.” You can check ‘em out at www.paparazzichic.com.

Club owner Sam Nazarian (Shelter, Prey) recently purchased the Sunset Boulevard hangout North, as well as the Lounge, a WeHo supper club.

Paris Hilton celebrated her unpending nuptials at the one-year anniversary party of Body English at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last weekend. On Friday, the diva and pal Kimberly Stewart caught a show by the Killers and even a burning palm tree didn’t dampen their fun (a cigarette butt ignited a nearby palm halfway through the show, forcing them to flee the VIP section). All’s well that ends well as the gals were back in time to catch the killer encore.

In more Vegas news, we hear that Pamela Anderson was in that town last week scouting possible locations to open her own Sin City bar.

D.A.S.K. Productions is taking over the Hollywood Palladium on Oct. 29 for its 18th annual Halloween Masquerade and Costume Ball. This bash will include fire dancers, psychics, stilt walkers and fortunetellers. For info, check out www.daskproductions.com.

Masquers

and Friars

The Key Club is plotting a freakfest Oct. 29 as the promoters behind Club Make-Up team up with the folks who run the Fetish Ball and Showtime’s Masters of Horror for its ninth annual Masquerade Ball.

The once exclusive Friars of Beverly Hills is open to the public after a beaucoup-bucks makeover. Among the additions are its Zebra Lounge gaming room and the Groucho Marx Cigar Room, which comes with a sandy beach floor and an air purification system.

DJ Sweeney Flytrap is working the turntables every Wednesday at the Bar in Hollywood. Think: Neil Diamond, Iggy Pop and some tasty Gordon Lightfoot.
