$2.2-Million Gas Co. Theft Nets 6-Year Term
One of several defendants indicted for bilking more than $2.2 million from Southern California Gas Co. through fraudulent invoices was sentenced Friday to six years in state prison and ordered to pay nearly $2.4 million in restitution.
Clarence B. Bonner, 53, a former Gas Co. employee, pleaded guilty to one count each of grand theft and failing to file a state tax return.
Bonner’s wife, Sharon, 52, was sentenced to 16 months in state prison after pleading guilty to failing to file a state tax return.
All eight defendants in the case have pleaded guilty or no contest.
