If It’s Not 70-0, USC Fans Worry

Re: “USC Sweats the Small Stuff,” Oct 9: Hey, so the “greatest college football team ever” makes some mistakes and is not ready to join the NFL. Special-team issues? What’s new?

I suppose you have to write something besides praise for a team that has won five games by no fewer than 10 points, even though they had four closer Pac-10 games last year as national champs. I get it. Gotta act as objective reporters, not in Pete’s pocket. OK, write on for USC, and let’s hope for more close games to keep us awake through the remaining seven.
