Matt Cullen scored late in the third period and Eric Staal had three goals for the Carolina Hurricanes, who defeated the Philadelphia Flyers, 8-6, overcoming a two-goal deficit for the third consecutive game Friday night at Raleigh, N.C.
Edmonton 5, Dallas 3 -- At Dallas, Radek Dvorak’s third-period goal helped end the Oilers’ losing streak at seven.
Tampa Bay 4, Washington 2 -- Vincent Lecavalier scored a tiebreaking goal with 5:07 left for the Lightning, ending a three-game home losing streak.
Columbus 2, Minnesota 1 -- Trevor Letowski scored in the fifth sudden-death shootout round to win at home for the Blue Jackets.
New Jersey 3, Buffalo 2 -- Sergei Brylin scored with 5:23 left and the Devils ended a two-game losing streak with a home win.
