Police Find Body After Receiving Phone Tip

Los Angeles police were investigating the death of a woman Sunday after being led to her body by a telephone tip.
The caller, who phoned police about 5:15 p.m., said a man had claimed he killed his girlfriend.
Police went to the residence in the 16700 block of Sherman Way and found the body of a woman.
Her identity had not been released Sunday evening, and no other details of the killing were available.
A spokeswoman for the LAPD said Van Nuys homicide detectives had not yet taken the boyfriend into custody.
