Driver in O.C. Hits 2 Joggers, Flees
Two women were in critical condition Saturday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while jogging with friends in Dana Point, officials said.
The group of four was on Coast Highway near Beach Road about 8 a.m. when a 1981 Buick Park Avenue struck two, said Sgt. Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff’s Department. The vehicle was found abandoned about a mile away, he said, and a search with bloodhounds for the driver proved unsuccessful.
The victims, Stacy Neria, 34, and Carol Daniel, 41, are both mothers of three.
William Todd Bradshaw, 37, the car’s registered owner, is a “person of interest” in the case, authorities said.
