Vista Man Dies After Falling Into Mine Shaft

A 41-year-old Vista man, Kenneth Albert Lasley, fell into a mine shaft Friday near a Calico campground and died of his injuries, according to the San Bernardino County coroner’s office.
Search and rescue teams from San Bernardino and Kern counties tried to rescue Lasley, but he was dead when they reached him.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating.
