* Charlotte Russe Holding Inc., the San Diego-based seller of apparel and accessories for young women, said its fiscal second-quarter loss grew to $11.6 million, or 52 cents a share, compared with a loss of $762,000, or 3 cents, a year earlier. Sales rose 35% to $171.1 million.

* Edwards Lifesciences reported a 47% jump in first-quarter profit, driven by sales of its heart valves and devices. The Irvine-based company said it earned $46 million, or 73 cents a share, in the first quarter, compared with $31.2 million, or 50 cents, in the year-earlier period.

* Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co., a Los Angeles metals processor and products manufacturer, said first-quarter profit rose as a result of strong demand that increased sales. Net income was $71.9 million, or $2.14 a share, compared with $46.4 million, or $1.41, a year earlier.
