Things I want back from Elizabeth Bernstein (“Things I Want Back From You,” California Story, April 2): I want my five minutes back--the five minutes I spent reading that materialistic, narcissistic, psychotic piece of “fiction.”

Kudos to Ms. Bernstein for her witty short story. It brought to mind the timeless tale of woe by Eudora Welty, “Why I Live at the P.O.” We all hope that Marlene the temptress will get everything she deserves!
