The Jesse James Aesthetic and a Little Elbow Grease

My compliments to Elizabeth Khuri for her fantastic article on Jesse James and West Coast Choppers (“Jesse James Wants to Take You From Dork to Cool in 20 Minutes,” Men’s Fashion Issue, April 9). As a white collar-type guy, I have followed James’ “Monster Garage” for years, envying those who get dirt and grease under their fingernails while working on his creations. Oh, to own one of his fabulous bikes.

With James, it seems to be a combination of talented mechanic, talented designer and now talented marketing executive. Good for him.
