Mighty Duck forward Todd Fedoruk remained in the hospital Wednesday after being injured during a Stanley Cup playoff game against the Calgary Flames on Tuesday.

Coach Randy Carlyle said Fedoruk was “spitting blood” after being leveled by Flames’ defenseman Rhett Warrener in the second period.

Carlyle said Fedoruk did not suffer a concussion and described his condition as an “upper body injury.”

A team spokesman said Fedoruk was expected to be released from the hospital either late Wednesday night or this morning. He is not expected to play again in the series.

Travis Moen will likely replace Fedoruk in the lineup tonight.
