Gang Member Gets 82 Years in Girl’s Death

A gang member convicted of shooting and killing a 15-year-old girl as she waited for a ride home after school was sentenced to 82 years to life in prison Tuesday.
Dejuan Hines, 20, was found guilty in March of shooting Deliesh Allen on a sidewalk outside Locke High School on the afternoon of March 17, 2005.
Judge Steven Suzukawa ruled that Hines’ murder and attempted murder sentences should run in succession, resulting in the 82-years-to-life penalty.
